Alexandrite Art Nouveau Ring

$129.00

Made in Melbourne by Clara Carija for Victoria's Kingdom

Art Nouveau jewellery, popular from the mid-1890s until the early 1910s, is characterized by soft, curved shapes and lines, and usually features natural designs such as flowers, birds, and animals.

This ring design features leaves on the shank cradling the Alexandrite, it's design reminiscent of  Art Nouveau Jewellery. Alexandrite is known to be a colour change stone, in different lighting the stone takes on different hues. This particular stone changes from pink to violet.

It is believed that Alexandrite is a stone with strong powers; it reacts to a change in the wearer's health by changing its colour. It is believed that Alexandrite can improve blood circulation, purify blood and strengthen blood vessels vessels; it also positively influences spleen and pancreas.

This ring is made using the lost-wax process, also called cire-perdue, method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model.
